Like most college students they were  on a budget this Valentine’s Day. Don’t let money keep you from having a good time. If your love is true you don’t need a well-planned date to have fun, but because it’s not here is a list of some cheap date ideas.

·                   Make it a RedBox night. $5 can get you a whole night of entertainment. Buy a box of popcorn and some candy and make the date homebound.

·                   Hit up Afentra’s VD Party hosted by 96.5 the Buzz. It’s a FREE concert featuring four great bands at the Midland. You can visit 96.5’s website for more information.

·                   Go to a coffee house. You don’t have to spend a lot of money, just feed your date a muffin and enjoy the live performers.

·                   Go to Dave & Busters. Eat some McDonalds before to save on the cost of dinner and spend the rest on arcade games. You know it’s fun.

·                   Bust out the PS3, or gaming console of your choice, and set up Rock Band. It’s a multiplayer game that can is fun for males and females. Nothing sets the mood like the off-key singing of your favorite rock songs.

·                   If all else fails you can bring your date to Avila’s dining hall. Fill your plates and enjoy the ambiance of the yellow lighting and pink paper hearts.

Remember it’s the thought that counts. If she, or he, gets mad because you had to resort to a cafeteria dinner, move on. It’s probably not meant to be. All of these ideas can be enjoyed solo.
