If you feel creative you can even create your own "Obamicon" as each of the IJ students have and enter them in the competition for a chance to win a special prize. A recent copyright controversy has arisen about Shephard Fairey's "Hope" poster created in 2008 as a campaign poster and an AP photo taken in 2006 by Manny Garcia at a National Press Club meeting. Nonetheless, the buzz the poster created has landed it a place in the National Portrait Gallery, as covers of both Time and Esquire magazines, while its adaptation has become an international means of amateur artistic expression across social networking sites. If you want to try your hand, instructions can be found at obamiconme.pastemagazine.com, then just register for the Talon online and e-mail your submission to us at the Talon@avila.edu.
Don't forget to vote on the first round of the best "Obamicon" in the poll section. Enter yours for the next round!
